I just found out about this blog carnival that sounds like so much fun. Stop over at WE ARE THAT FAMILY to read about all sorts of useful hints in this week's edition of WORKS FOR ME WEDNESDAY.
One of my very first blog posts was about this "crafting hint" I first heard about on the Martha Stewart Show. With Summer now in full swing and moms are looking for easy crafts for the kids, I thought this might be nice to "revisit".
The following was taken from my original post dated March 13, 2009:
I decided to make some more of the "vintage earring" magnets this morning and thought I would share a tip I think I learned from Martha's Show. When working with something convex or shaped oddly and you need to have it rest upside down during your creation process (in my case for the E6000 to dry), fill a bowl about 2/3 full of rice and invert your item into it. It stays stable and you can now go on to other projects!

Great tip! And I love the idea of vintage earring magnets... brilliant! I've never seen that before. Thanks so much!
Thank you for the tip! I am getting ready to work on my jewelry again and this tip will come in handy.

That's clever!
That's a great idea! I'll have to keep it in mind.
