My Latest Acquisition--Sasheen Star Bow Maker

So I love to go to garage sales and estate sales. It must be hereditary--my older brother has the same affliction. I recently spent WAYYY too much money at an estate sale that had 1000s of pieces of vintage costume jewelry (another of my passions), and also picked up this amazing machine on the last day of the sale for a mere $25--including several rolls of ribbon.

It sat on my kitchen table for a few days, but I finally had to move it so that I could get other things done. You see, it kept drawing me in--back to make another bow--using a different color of ribbon, or just trying a different size of bow.

Now what should I do with all these bows I have made???

I just bought a machine which looks just like yours - its a 3M Magic Bow Tyer S-19 - but it has no instructions. Is it easy towork out how to use it as I ca't work out what goes where?

I have a bow machine like this and can't find anywhere to buy the pins that you have to have to make a bow. Where do you buy yours?

Check at Nashville Wraps. They used to carry the pins, ribbon, and sticky back thingies. Hope that helps! Happy Holidays!

WOW....I was talking with a coworker about a wonderful childhood memory of earning Christmas money where my mom worked at Hofheimer's Shoe Store. My job was to make these big beautiful amazing bows on a hand cranked machine. The best job I've every had...LOL Now I'm on the hunt for one, but not sure which model, there seem to be a lot. Which model is yours? Also, I found some bow tacks and ribbon on ebay for the lady looking for the tacks.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY BOW MAKING

@Kelly--I sold this little novelty about 7 years ago and don't even remember the model number...it may be listed in one of the early comments. It was a lot of fun, but I rarely used it and needed to make room for other crafting items. I hope you are able to locate one someday. I have seen them on EBay and possibly Etsy, so you might check those sites.
Best of luck and Happy Holidays!

oh thanks for responding. I found several online, but like you ...just don't have the room. I'll just have to treasure the precious memory! Merry Christmas!
